She earned her Ph.D. degree at Tokyo University. After graduation, she studied at the National Institute of Mental Health in the U.S. (in the Emotion and Development Branch under the guidance of Respected Dr. Daniel Pine), receiving her fellowships from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. After 2011, she worked as an assistant professor at Kitasato University, Tokyo University, and the International University of Health and Welfare. She has engaged in neuroimaging research for clinical patients with posttraumatic stress disorder and depressive disorders and high-risk healthy individuals for these disorders. She has taken the position of professor of Clinical and Cognitive Neuroscience at Toyama University School of Medicine since 2021. 

In addition to her research activities, she provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) at a psychiatric outpatient clinic. She has been certified as ​a Beck Institute CBT Certified Clinician.
